Back to work...

Today was my first day back to work since Wednesday, December 17th. I needed more time off to recover from my time off! We took a mini vacation to Sevierville, TN to visit some of the sites in Gatlinburg, TN and to go to the new indoor waterpark at the hotel where we were staying, "Wilderness at the Smokies". We had a great time despite the attitude of the staff. The hotel staff was completely unaware of any of the waterpark details. You see...the grand opening was December 19th. We arrived the evening of December 18th so we'd be there for all the festivities. Haha...there weren't really any festivities, but it was fun. Along with out hotel stay we recieved 1 complimentary ticket to the Ripley's Aquarium and 2 other Ripley's attractions. We did go to the aquarium and the Ripley's Believe it or Not Museum, but we did not go to a third attraction. The entire weekend of fun was starting to take its toll on Gabe and he was not the happy little camper he normally is. We decided to call it a weekend and head home. It was perfect timing since it was just about nap time. Luckily, it was just a three hour car ride and Gabe slept for a little more than half of it. Here are a few pictures from the waterpark for your enjoyment. More pictures to come later.

Thanksgiving Day

It sure it bright out...

Gabe wouldn't keep his sunglasses on but he was OK wearing Mommy's on the way to storytime where we saw the ducks on the frozen pond outside of the bookstore.

Santa Mail

We took Gabe to Macy's to mail a letter to Santa.

Sock Puppets

You're so silly. Everytime you see your socks you want to put them on your hands. We always play the game and eventually you let us put the socks on your feet where they belong.

Finally!

Yesterday Gabe finally said mama!! For a while there I thought he would never say mama. Yesterday he finally said it and didn't really stop jibber jabbering all day. He mostly went back and forth between saying mama and dada. He has also started giving kisses. They are wet but so special. We hope you all had a Happy Halloween. We took Gabe out to a few houses and then came back to our own to hand out candy. Yesterday we also went to Boyd's Orchard in Versailles, KY where we enjoyed a hay ride. Gabe loved the tractor that pulled the trailers.

Digital Scrapbooking

I must confess I love digital scrapbooking and love to make layouts to remember moments of Gabe's life. I'm sure as he gets older some of the memories I think I will never forget will slip my mind and be replaced with new and current memories. I hope to be reminded of the older memories by looking at the pages I have scrapped.

Happy Halloween - Fall Photos

Hello Everyone! I can't believe it's the end of October already. Gabe is currently 16 months and has 16 teeth. It's amazing how quickly he has gotten his teeth. He's been walking around more without our help and is quite daring. He knows no fear. He continues to amaze me everyday with all of the new things he is learning. My favorite story is one when I said "Mommy knows" and Gabe pointed to my nose. He knows some of his body parts and understands so much of what we tell him. I just love watching him grow up.

Here's a link to all the photos we just had done at the picture people. We have tons of other candids and I will work on sharing more of those too. We'd love to hear from you if you have time to write.
